Installation & Migration
Is VOIP stable & reliable enough to use in my office?
VOIP has already being around for many years and has how become an attractive alternative to traditional PSTN connections. We however realise that your phone system is a key component of your business and must be reliable. This is why we encourage customers who can not guarantee that their Internet connection will be stable to have a fall back solution such as a PRI or BRI connection. Slacht can be configured to have many fail-over configurations so if you Internet connection goes down calls can be routed through a traditional PSTN connection.
Can I be assured of good call quality?
We only work with hardware which has been put through rigorous testing so we can guarantee call quality. All our cards come with echo cancellation modules to ensure quality over PSTN connections. With VOIP call quality depends on the quality of your Internet connection and we can advise you on this area.

All of our servers come pre-installed with all interface cards automatically configured. This means our system is practically Plug and Play and a basic setup can be configured in minutes using our user-friendly management interface.

Yes you can use Analog phones with our system but you will need an ATA adapter for each phone. Currently however there is not much difference in price between an ATA adapter and a new VOIP phone so we recommend customers installing new phones.
Does Slacht support multi-locations?
Yes there are various ways Slacht can be used in more than one office. You can install a Slacht server in each location and link them together using VOIP, this is commonly used where there are PSTN connections in both locations. If there is only PSTN connections in one location you can link phones to the server over your existing VPN or host the server on a public IP Address.
